The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has partnered up with the Pest Management Regulatory Agency for pesticides sampling in the watershed.

The Conservation Authority and the PMRA partnership has initiated the Canadian Water Monitoring Program for Pesticides allowing the UTRCA to monitor pesticide levels in surface water by collecting samples twice weekly at three different sub-watersheds.

The collection is taking place at Otter Creek in St Marys, Gregory Creek near Cherry Groves and Fish Creek near Prospect Hill.

The data collected will be analyzed for pesticide concentrations and made publicly available through the Government of Canada’s Open Data portal.
