The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority says its the time of the year again where turtles are looking for places to lay eggs.

The conservation authority says this can lead to turtles sometimes choosing to lay them near a road which the Southern Ontario at Risk Reptiles, or SOARR is looking to solve.

Residents are asked if they ever spot turtle eggs laid near a road to contact the SOAAR team so they retrieve them and incubate them and once they are hatched will be released into the wild.

The conservation authority says since all Ontario turtles are at risk, they need all the help they can get.
