The US Federal Register they pre-published a notice advising that the US land border will remain closed to non-essential travel until at least August 21st.
The renewal order says while vaccination rates have improved State side opening the land border to non-essential travel still poses too high a risk.
The new order expires one minute before midnight on August 21st.
The update comes only a few days after Canada announced it’s land border would open to fully vaccinated US citizens on August 9th and other countries fully vaccinated travelers on September 7th.
