The Kitchener-Waterloo & Stratford-Perth Humane Society is making an urgent appeal for support for life saving surgery for a six week old kitten who came into their care.
Penny, the six week old kitten was found on the side of the road with her front leg missing from the elbow down and the bone above it broken.
Penny went into surgery on Wednesday to have the remaining part of her leg removed to take away the broken bone and damaged tissue.
The humane society says the costs for this could reach up to $6000 by the time Penny is ready for adoption.
Penny, despite her trauma is said to still be playful, energetic and affectionate.
With a goal of $6000, the community has poured in surpassing the goal with over $7200 raised.
