FIO Automotive Canada continued their support of the community today presenting a cheque for over $162,000 to the United Way Perth-Huron toward their annual fundraising campaign.
Engaging workplaces such as FIO helped the United Way exceed this year’s campaign goal of $1.762 million dollars. This years increase in giving at FIO was driven by 97 percent participation among the over 200 new employees FIO hired in recent months.
The grand total will be announced on March 31st.
Acknowledge the ongoing and additional challenges faced by vulnerable and newly vulnerable people due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the United Way is investing donations raised between now and the end of March into the organization’s Urgent Needs Fund. The fund helps individuals and families in a time of crisis with funds for essentials such as rent, groceries and medication.
There will be no in-person Spirit of Community event. Instead, the United Way will celebrate donors and local communities in a series of short videos, each one premiering at 6pm between March 24th and 31st on the United Way Perth Huron Social Media Channels.
