The United States is ramping up its complaints on the way Canada has implemented tariff-rate quotas on dairy products.
The current administration says they will seek a disputes settling panel under the Canada-US-Mexico trade agreement.
Canada and the United States have been in negotiations for some time over the U.S complaints. The Americans biggest concern is some quotas have been given to Canadian dairy. The United States want the quotas opened for more potential customers for U.S dairy.
The whole arrangement will take around a month to set up and more months ahead to reach a conclusion.
