Locally, the unemployment rate rose slightly in February to 4.6 per cent.
Monthly stats from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board shows the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region lost around 1700 jobs, dropping 2100 full time jobs but gaining 400 new part time jobs.
Among the hardest hit in the area was construction and manufacturing.
Dana Soucie, Executive Director of the Planning Board says the area remains as one of the lowest unemployment rates in Ontario, making a tight labour market to the economic region.
