Trustees with the Upper Grand District School Board have said all volunteers will undergo a vulnerable sector check when working with students under 18.
This past June a section under the Volunteer Policy 205 was revisited to be discussed towards the fall after some trustees had questioned whether the policy would be violating any human rights rules.
The requirement now will be for volunteers deemed to be in high to medium risk settings to undergo a police check.
