The offer of remote learning will be offered again for elementary schools with the Upper Grand District School Board.
Remote learning for those from junior kindergarten to grade 8 has been offered to students voluntarily in both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school year.
Superintendent Brent McDonald says they anticipate some to keep with remote learning but not due to COVID-19 concerns and rather for those who prefer the remote learning style which works better for the families lifestyle or a better fit for their child’s learning style.
The board expects around 400-500 students to opt for remote learning next year.
Currently around 1000 students are using remote learning for this year.
