The Upper Grand District School Board will launch the “UGDSB Counts Students Census” this fall.

The census is a voluntary, confidential survey for all students with a goal to better understand the cultural, social and demographic diversity of students.

The survey will ask questions about first languages, Indigenous status, racial background, gender, socio-economic status and religious/spiritual affiliation.

Kindergarten to grade 8 students will be surveyed with info filled out by parents. Students in grade 9-12 will complete the survey on their own. Time will be provided in class to complete the survey.

Additional information on the voluntary survey will be released this summer with more details available from the school board’s website.
