Two people have been charged after a joint drug trafficking investigation.
Members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit, Perth County OPP, Wellington and Grey-Bruce CSCU teams, and the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit all took part in the investigation across Perth and Huron County’s.
The Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit executed two search warrants at a home on Trafalgar Street in Mitchell and another at on Ainley Street in Brussels on June 13th.
As a result two people were arrested with purple and yellow fentanyl, meth, psilocybin, drug trafficking paraphernalia and Canadian cash was seized.
Police also took a Suzuki motorcycle believed to be stolen.
The total estimated value of the drugs is approximately $25,000. The total estimated value of the seized property is $3700, and currency is just over $1600.
A 42 year old man of Huron East, has been charged with:
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (fentanyl)
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Altering/Destroying/Removing a Vehicle Identification Number
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
A 50 year old man of West Perth, has been charged with:
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (fentanyl)
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
– Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
