North Perth council only spent their focus this week during their meeting on the final draft review of the Transportation Master Plan.

The Master Plan first began in June 2020 with a variety of meetings over the course of the years being held both public and with stakeholders with biggest topics including a truck bypass, something widely desired by the public.

Jean Chartier with Paradigm Transportation Solutions Limited who has run the master plan says from their assessments, it makes sense using existing roads as an acceptable truck route to get around town.

“Based on our assessment we felt that the truck route on existing roads was the one that best met the objectives for the municipality and felt that they could address the longstanding traffic concerns in downtown Listowel” said Chartier.

Council gave its support for the Master Plan and will open up a 60 day review period which will end on February 5th.
