Traffic stop near Blyth leads to Two Arrests

Suspects were identified by officer for outstanding warrants

 

Huron County OPP has charged both a driver and passenger following a traffic stop conducted last week north of Blyth.

On May 6th at approximately 2:43 pm a Huron County OPP officer patrolling northbound on London Road came across a southbound that was pulling a utility trailer.

The investigating officer recognized both the driver and passenger as 2 individuals wanted on outstanding warrants. Consequently the officer followed the vehicle a short distance to a private drive where the vehicle came to a stop.

The driver was immediately placed under arrest and shortly after the passenger was also taken into custody.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in police seizing a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

A 51 year old male of Central Huron has been charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance methamphetamine, operation while prohibited, failure to comply with a probation and failure to comply with a release order.

The accused is in custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 11th in Goderich.

A 46 year old female of Central Huron is facing the charges of possession of a schedule 1 substance methamphetamine and mischief under $500-.

She is remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 11th.
