Traffic stop Monday morning results in impaired driver arrest

Driver was stopped after being observed going in excess of 50 km over posted limit

 

On Monday just after 9am a Perth County OPP officer was conducting general patrols in the area of Perth Line 20 in West Perth and observed a vehicle travelling in excess of 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

During the traffic stop the driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested.

A 24 year old male of Brantford has been charged with:

  • operation while impaired alcohol and drugs
  • operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
  • driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • racing a motor vehicle excessive speed

The accused in this matter was released from custody and is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
