Perth County OPP have charged two people after a traffic stop led to firearms a drug seizure.
On November 3rd, OPP stopped a vehicle on St George Street in Mitchell.
The driver was seen to be prohibited from driving and was arrested.
Police also seized two firearms, one of which was loaded along with suspected cocaine and meth after a search.
A 35 year old of West Perth was charged with;
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts)
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (Two Counts)
• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
• Occupant of a Motor vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (Two Counts)
• Operation While Prohibited (Two Counts)
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order
A 32 year old of Huron East has been charged with;
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts)
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (Two Counts)
• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
• Occupant of a Motor vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (Two Counts)
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with Release Order
Both individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
