Traffic Stop in Wingham results in Seizure of Drugs, Property and Weapons

Stop was the result of an investigation by the Community Street Crimes Unit, West Grey Police, Huron OPP and West Region Emergency response team.

 

A traffic stop as the result of an investigation by the Huron County OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, West Grey Police, Huron OPP and West Region Emergency response team has resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs, cash, prohibited weapon and offence related property.

Last Wednesday, March 22nd around 8:20 pm a vehicle was stopped on Josephine Street in Wingham.

As a result, police seized over $13,000 in drugs, property worth $1,760 and cash of $2,790.

Also seized were a prohibited knife and ammunition.

A 38-year-old male of Wingham was charged with possession of schedule 1 substances cocaine, fentanyl and meth, Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and unauthorized possession.

A 42-year-old female of Durham was charged with possession of schedule 1 substances cocaine, fentanyl, and meth.

Both were remanded into custody with an April 24th date at a Goderich court.
