A recent traffic stop in Clinton for a vehicle that wasn’t displaying its front license plate has resulted in more than two dozen charges for a London resident.
Just before 10 pm on April 14th, an officer observed a car parked without a front license plate. A traffic stop was initiated when the driver stopped on Albert Street.
The driver attempted to flee from the officer when they actived their lights and siren. They continued to drive dangerously, through a traffic signal, over a sidewalk and median.
The median caused the vehicle to break down and officers were able to locate and arrest the driver.
Following a search of the vehicle officers found suspected methampethetamine, break-in tools, brass knuckles, stolen identification and a pellet gun. Further checks revealed he was also failing to comply with numerous conditions of a probation order.
A 35 year old male of London was charged with fleeing from police, dangerous operation, operation while prohibited, possession of a schedule 1 substance, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possesion of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon in a vehicle, possession of break and enter tools, 6 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, 3 counts of failing to comply with a probation order, 5 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a probation order as well as three highway traffic act offences.
The accused remains in custody scheduled for a May 18th appearance at a Goderich court.
