The Town of Minto is providing just under $15,000 to support Minto Minor Hockey.
A grant of $14,800 from a pool of COVID-19 relief funding is being used to support, the total give from the total deficit seen in the 2020-21 hockey season.
When it came to council supporting the number of funding, it was a no brainer according Deputy Mayor Dave Turnton.
“That 14.8 is a pretty low number. It could have been a heck of a lot worse so I’m in favour of this.” said Turnton.
The biggest loss for Minto Minor Hockey last season was the shortened season and with no admission at the door, costs such as referee fees were at the cost out of minor hockey’s pocket.
Tournaments were also a large boost in profit which the season saw none of.
