The town is Minto is looking to file an application with Wellington County to amend the official plan for the area. The engineers report was presented Tuesday that suggested increasing the urban boundary of Palmerston in order to accommodate the projected growth within the community.
The change, which would add 202 acres to the Palmerston community, would mean a possible 635 households could be added to Palmerston through their current official plan timeline running until 2041.
The change would slightly shrink the boundaries of neighbouring Harriston and Clifford through an 85 acre offset reduction but it would leave them both easily able to meet their urban growth needs.
