As a way to help promote local pride in agriculture across the area, the town of Erin is looking into a bylaw which would allow a more present Agri-Tourism identity in the town.
By doing so, Erin’s agricultural zoning would be more consistent with current provincial polices and have a better understanding of the town’s zoning requirements for agricultural use.
Council has directed staff to prepare a recommendation report and draft zoning amendment.
Amending the zoning bylaw requires public notice which the recommendation has been to hold public meetings to discuss the idea of a more Agri-Tourism identity for the town.
A date for such a meeting has not been set.
