You’ll likely see many folks wearing pink shirts today.
February 24th is Pink Shirt Day where everyone is encouraged to show off their pink and help take a stand against bullying. On top of showing off your pink to raise awareness, the group behind the day accept donations from their website.
Last year, donations supported almost 60,000 anti-bullying programs selling over 400,000 pink shirts. People are encouraged to show their support across social media with posts tagging @PinkShirtDay
The worldwide event was started from two Nova Scotia students who took a stand when a grade 9 student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
