This Saturday from 8am to Sunday 8am you’ll find Andrea Charest and Manny Coelho camped outside the North Perth Public Library for the 2nd This is Home Campaign.
The goal is to stay outside for 24 hours and raise funds to support and address homelessness and issues which lead to homelessness.
Both will be geared up with only what someone would be offered from It Takes a Village.
Manny says the experience from last year and hearing from residents is something he’ll never forget.
“One person that showed up on Saturday said to me ‘we’re all just one paycheque away from living on the street’ and I’ve never forgotten that. Everyone of us fortunate to have what we have.” said Coelho.
Last years campaign raised a total of $24,000, smashing the goal which was $2400, to raise $100 for every hour spent outside.
