Team Canada Goes Gold Once Again

Canada is golden in Halifax.

A rally in the third period from the Czechs was good enough to force overtime but it was Dylan Guenther for Team Canada who sent it home 3-2 giving the Canadians the win and claiming the gold medal.

It was Guenther’s 2nd goal of the night who rallied the Canadians to defeat Czechia who had bested them on Boxing Day.

Thomas Milic posted 24 saves in the win with Connor Bedard named tournament MVP.

Stratford’s Dennis Williams was the head coach for the year, who this past summer served as an assistant coach for the “catch up” 2022 World Juniors which was postponed due to the pandemic.

Canada also grabbed a gold medal in the summer World Juniors.
