With summer quickly approaching all eyes are looking what the season brings from soccer, baseball and swimming.
North Perth has opened up registration for the Listowel and Atwood Swim Teams running from July 3rd-August 11th.
Those who get involved can work and improve on their swim skills, gain strength and work on endurance learning all different swimming strokes, flip turns, starts, breathing patterns and more.
Kelly Broughton Program Coordinator for the Municipality says this is a great program to get involved in to build on their strengths.
“The skills involve strokes so looking at different strokes that can be completed, front, back. breast, back stroke. There is one called the fly. It helps develop those skills and some swimmers like different strokes better than others but they learn them all and can build on what they want during the season” said Broughton
Swim meets are also part of the program to add in some competitive aspects to the Listowel and Atwood Swim Teams which will see Listowel host a meet on July 15th.
Broughton says everyone gets involved in the swim meets and is an exciting part of being on the swim team.
“During the day they will do swim meets for different categories, different strokes. Everyone is involved on the swim team.”
Participants need only have completed their deep end test successfully to take part in either swim team.
Broughton says they often hold a deep end test before the start of the season for any swimmer who needs to complete it.
Registration is available from the North Perth website.
