A staff proposal to amend Stratfords official plan and approve the development on Ontario Street has hit a halt.
After a recent meeting, which was included with residents strongly against the project councilors decided to sent the proposal back to staff to review further.
A development of a four storey multi residential unit is being proposed for 370-396 Ontario Street near downtown which includes several homes and an empty restaurant.
The section is currently for low and medium density use but the official plan amendment if approved would increase building height and density limits.
Residents around the area have expressed concerns, worried about parking, traffic and shadows.
