With the help of $96,000 in federal funding, Stratford Transit will be planning to move to zero-emission buses.
Officials say the money will head towards a feasibility study to look into the first steps to make the change in fleet.
Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma says the move from diesel to electric buses is key to achieve the city’s goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
The federal investment is coming from the Zero Emission Transit Fund with Stratford also adding $24,000 on top.
