Stratford council has approved the replacement of the 29 year old aerial fire truck.
The cost to replace the truck is estimated around $2 million. The customized aerial truck is designed for more than 13000 lines of specifications which can respond to any fire scenario in or around the Stratford area.
The new aerial truck will be armed with a 100 foot mid-mount aerial ladder, integrated ground pads on stabilizers for faster and a safer set up, a ladder bucket accessible from both sides and have the power to pump out water at 2000 gallons per minute.
Stratfords current aerial truck was purchased in 1992. These trucks have a lifespan of around 20-30 years.
