As a way to show continued support for LGBTQ+ communities, Stratford City Hall will have a Pride Progress Flag crosswalk at the intersection of Wellington Street and Downie Street.

The proposal of the painted crosswalk was made by Infinite Pride Stratford.

A Pride Progress flag, features the colours of pride while also with the colours brown and black to represent people of colour and white, baby blue and pink for those in the Trans community.

In terms of helping cover costs for the crosswalk, Eric Charbonneau from Infinite Pride says fundraising efforts will be held.

“Infinite Pride and Kelly Ballantyne of Sirkel Foods will raise funds to pay for costs of the coating and to pay for the rental of the equipment to remove the current crosswalk.” said Charbonneau

There currently isn’t a date for when the painting will start but approval from council to cover the $300 cost for the road closure was approved.
