For the time being, Stratford will not be appointing a Deputy Mayor.
While council had at the time made plans to appoint a councilor to the position during their recent meeting, some members spoke against the vote in an open session with a request for staff to look into what other options could be available.
Staff are expected to now bring back a report on what other methods are available and can be used on appointing a Deputy Mayor.
The report is expected back in a few weeks.
