Stratford Police are warning residents of ongoing gift card scams across the area and to be aware of them.
Scammers often claim to be from a legitimate business and will ask victims to purchase gift cards as a form of payment for various services.
Scammers then get access to the cards and steal the money of what the cards are worth.
Police are reminding residents no business will accept gift cards as a form of payment and for retailers to always ask questions when they see a large quantity of cards being purchased at one time.
