Stratford Police will be providing law enforcement to St Marys for another 5 years after a recent contract renewal.
St Marys council unanimously voted to extend the agreement in a recent meeting.
While the current contract isn’t set to expire until December 2023, the clause was written in the contract to have council make a decision at least two years before the deal expired.
St Marys is now committed to support from Stratford Police until 2028.
Police first took over law enforcement duties in St Marys in 2018 from the OPP.
