Stratford Police are warning residents of a scam hitting locals.
Over the week from July 8th-12th police received multiple calls of a suspected Princess Margaret Hospital Lottery Scam.
The victims received a call from a man claiming to be from the lottery and informed they had won $2.9 million and a Dodge Ram pickup with the caller saying they would attend the victims home, instructing them to have a pre-paid Visa card to provide so the could receive the prize.
It’s believed the caller obtained information from the phone book and used this information to learn their names and addresses.
