It’s been a long road, well over a year since the City of Stratford and Stratford Police announced the forming of a community equity action team to address divides which exist between local marginalized communities and police.
After discussions with the public around diversity, inclusion and anti-racism with police it was announced at the Stratford Police Services board meeting applications are now being accepted and screened.
The final membership should be ready to share by the next police services meeting at the end of October.
Police Chief Greg Skinner says he believes the community equity action team has the potential to make major positive changes to the community and form great relationships with police.
