The Stratford Police say that on Friday, October 28th shortly after 5pm officers attended the area of Culliton Street & Forman Avenue in Stratford after receiving reports of a male shooting at ducks in the storm pond with a black handgun.
Officers attended the scene and located the male involved outside a nearby residence. The officer observed the male in possession of a black Glock style handgun. This caused the officer to remove their firearm and conduct a gun-point arrest.
The male was arrested without incident and the gun seized was found to be a black Glock replica BB gun.
The 22-year-old Stratford resident was taken to Police Headquarters where they were charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession for a dangerous purpose and mischief. They were later released on an undertaking and required to attend court on December 5th.
Police provided a photo of the replica Glock BB gun and ask everyone to be aware of the dangers that these types of weapons cause and remind that all types of BB, pellet or airsoft guns are prohibited to use within the City of Stratford at all times under a Municipal by-law.
