On Saturday, Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae was present at the kickoff for the Coldest Night of the Year Event in Stratford and learned how the organization used a recent Trillium Grant.

The $161,000 grant was from the Resilient Communities Fund and is aimed at supporting Shelterlink as it recovers and builds resiliency from the impacts of Covid-19.

The changes include hiring more front-line staff and case managers as well as focusing on securing additional funding.

Shelterlink exists to provide Perth County youth ages 16 to 24, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless with wrap-around support, such as shelter, case management and advocacy services.
