Stratford-native Dennis Williams named HC for 2023 World Juniors

Williams is in his sixth season as Head Coach with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, adding the GM title in July of 2021.

 

With less than 2 months remaining until the puck-drop of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Halifax, NS and Moncton, NB Hockey Canada has named the staff that will lead Canada’s National Team.

The Assistant Coach for Canada’s 2022 Golf Medal Win, and Stratford, Ontario native Dennis Williams returns to take the reins as Head Coach. He will be joined by Assistant Coaches Stephane Julien, Brent Kisio, and Alan Letang.

Director of Player Personnel Alan Millar said of the hiring of Williams will help bring momentum and consistency from their success in the summer.

Williams is in his sixth season as Head Coach with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, adding the GM title in July of 2021. He has led them to 4 US Division Titles, 3 Western Conference Regular Season Titles and a Western Conference Playoff Championship.
