Stratford will be the host tomorrow at Upper Queens Park for the Kidney Walk in support of the Kidney Foundation and raise awareness for kidney disease.

Andy Bowman in January 2023 spent two weeks in the Grand River Hospital where he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease.

Together with his fiancée Amanda Hoover, a goal of $5000 was set which already has doubled its goal coming from a series of events in Palmerston and Harriston as well as a donation from Oak Tree Financial which matched the fundraising efforts.

Hoover says being able to support the foundation allows people such as Andy to not have to worry about paying out of pocket for things such as having a kidney dialysis machine at home.

“Fundraising for the Kidney Foundation takes care of the dialysis, allowing us to have the dialysis machine at home which is nice and camps and education. All that stuff.” said Hoover.

All money raised will go towards research, peer support for people with kidney disease and subsides for Lions Camp Dorset. Registration for the walk is at 9am with the walk starting at 10.
