A few weeks ago Xinyi Canada had said they suspended all talks with Stratford on the proposed $400 million glass plant.
In a release Xinyi said they would wait until further notice before starting up talks again, though Stratford council had a different decision, voting 9-2 to go forward with a request to repeal the factories ministerial zoning order.
Stratford council and Xinyi Canada have not spoken since the start of lockdown on December 26th.
Following the vote, councilors asked staff to bring a report on what steps need to be taken to service the lands annexed from Perth South last year and be added to the cities supply of industrial land.
