The saying goes when a tree falls in the forest.. and no one is around to hear.. does it make a sound.
The same could be said for Stratford Transit and their ridership.
The City is eyeing expanding their “on-demand” service currently being tested on Sundays.
This service sees buses only making stops that day at pre-booked and scheduled stops and locations throughout the Festival City.
Stratford Council estimates moving it to Saturday as well could save the city $90,000 next year.
Pickups could be scheduled as early as 5:30 am.
These types of cost savings have reduced next years proposed tax increase to 2.46% at this point in budget deliberations.
