The Stratford & District Chamber of Commerce has been certified by United Way Perth Huron as a Living Wage Employer.
The Living Wage was updated recently to reflect the hourly wage needed to be made by someone living in Perth-Huron to make ends meet which has been set at $23.05 an hour.
The calculations factor three types of households, two adults supporting two small children, a single parents and single adult.
Aaron Martin, General Manager of the Stratford & District Chamber of Commerce says they believe strongly in offering tools for the business community and the living wage is a great metric to demonstrate what workers need to live a comfortable life locally.
