Stratford Bed and Breakfast Owners Raise Concerns over Proposed Bylaw

Many bed and breakfast owners in Stratford are raising their concerns with council over a proposed accommodation licensing bylaw.

The bylaw would have licensing requirements for all short term rentals in the city and replace an existing bylaw already in place for bed and breakfasts.

Delegations had raised questions and made statements with council about the proposed bylaw which was introduced earlier this month.

“Adding additional bureaucratic red tape, additional costs associated with licensing will limit the growth of Stratford’s hospitality, entertainment and retail and service industries and deter future investment.”

Questions given have been redirected to a report to be presented at a future Infrastructure, Transportation and Safety Committee meeting.
