Stolen Vehicle Hits Crusier, Enters Ditch

One person has been charged after stealing a vehicle and attempting to flee from police.

On October 28th at around midnight an officer was notified from an Automated License Plate Reader on a possible stolen vehicle on Sideroad 18 in Centre Wellington.

When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, it struck the cruiser and sped away.

The vehicle then entered a ditch off Highway 6 with the driver trying to flee on foot but being arrested by officers.

The accused, a 27 year old from Guelph has been charged with a slew of offenses including Flight from Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation (two counts), Failure to Stop after Accident, Operation while Prohibited, Assault Peace Officer, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, and with Fail to Comply with Release Order.

The accused will appear in Guelph court next month.
