St Marys has a new Sports Wall of Fame with the town holding a grand unveiling later this morning to honour the inaugural group of inductees.
The Sports Wall of Fame at the Pyramid Recreation Centre will be unveiled on October 19th with six local athletes getting recognized.
The Sports Wall of Fame was first proposed by the town’s recreation and leisure advisory committee with inductees being shared in May.
Names on the wall include Stanley Cup champion, Riley Hern, former NHL player Mark Bell, Team Canada softball player Dale Levy, coach and manager Ferris Stewart, journalist Pat Payton and Joannah Campbell, Recreation Manager for St Marys.
“We are excited to showcase the outstanding sports achievements in St. Marys,” says Joannah Campbell, Recreation Manager for the Town of St. Marys.
“The strong support and involvement from our community is why it’s important to recognize the dedicated individuals, teams and builders who play a role the success and development of sports in our town.”
