St Marys Quarry Record Turnout for the Summer

It was another successful summer at the St Marys Quarry which attracted a record number of swimmers to the area.

Inflatables were installed for the summer which boosted the levels of around 6000 people “checking in” online according to Economic Development Manager Kelly Deeks-Johnson.

Johnson says those who use social media to check into places estimates around 20 per cent of actual users and figures roughly 30,000 people dipped into the quarry this summer.

The inflatables were announced in June which included a 14 foot tower.

St Marys Mayor Al Strathdee says everyone is really happy with how the quarry turned out this summer which brought in newcomers to the town.
