Over $2000 was raised for charity with the first annual car wash event hosted by the St Marys Fire Department.

Volunteers firefighters spent this past Saturday washing down cars all in support for Ronald McDonald House charity.

Residents drove through the fire hall between 8am to 12pm with a donation to have their cars washed.

In a release, Fire Chief Richard Anderson says he is always amazed by the amount of support the community shows towards their firefighters saying it’s something they will continue to add on top of their other fundraiser efforts organized by the association.
