A snowmobile collision caused an increased police presences in Walkerton recently and has led to the arrest of a suspect.
Early morning yesterday South Bruce OPP received a report of a snowmobiler riding around Walkerton with no lights on.
Officers made patrols for the sled, which was eventually located in the area of Bruce Road 19 and Concession 2 NDR.
The sled had rolled and the operator had fled on foot.
The area was contained with the help of the Canine Unit and West Region ERT with the suspect located along Ontario Road and placed under arrest after a brief struggle.
A 40-year-old from Lucknow has been charged with dangerous operation, resisting arrest, disarming a peace officer, possession of meth as well as multiple counts of operation while prohibited.
They are being held pending a bail hearing.
