The Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce recently announced their winners for Excellence Awards, which includes Citizen of the Year, Customer Service and Youth Citizen of the Year.
Seven year old Simon Dickert was named the Youth Citizen of the Year.
Simon has been a pillar in the community with his campaign “Gold Bikes for Simon” which helps shine light of September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with funds raised to support local families battling Paediatric cancer and the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
Simons mother accepted the award on his behalf.
“I want to thank everyone from the community for all their awareness they help spread in Simons name. Thank you.”
Simon was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018.
Rosemary Tanner and Raymond Langston were named Citizens of the Year.
