Those looking to get into the trades and staying local are being encouraged to get involved with a free training program starting near the end of the month within North Perth.
Set7 is launching its Construction Fundamentals program with 5 complementary courses focused on job readiness in the construction sector.
The program done in part with the Technical Training Group offers Trade Math which starts February 27th, Construction and Blueprint Reading next month as well as a certificate in Working at Heights.
Erin Bewick with Set7 says these programs can help build up those to get into the industry.
“This can lead to an entry level construction program or be able to consider looking into an apprenticeship opportunities in the construction industry” said Bewick.
Space is limited in each program with separate applications required for each course.
Courses are taught at the Elma memorial Community Centre and at Listowel District Secondary.
The courses are held in the evenings and on Saturdays with some being one day courses or spanned out in multiple days.
