Search Warrant Turns Up Over $65,000 in Stolen Goods and Weapons

 

Huron County OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Harpurhey Road in Huron East which turned up over $65,000 of stolen property and weapons.

Investigation with OPP on February 7th located and seized a 2022 travel trailer, 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle, Stihl chainsaws, a snowmobile jacket and a new Lennox air conditioning unit.

Also seized were two imitation pellet handguns, a taser style weapon, throwing knives, .22 caliber ammunition and lock picks as well as suspected cocaine. 

As a result a 45 year old from Huron East has been charged with;

  • Possession of Break-in Instruments
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (two counts)
  • Possession of weapons/ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order (eight counts)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (three counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 55 year old from Huron East has been charged with;

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (three counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – Cocaine

The accused was released and will appear in Goderich court on March 30th.
