Southbridge Care Homes released an update to family members last night on the status of the outbreak at the company’s Seaforth Manor facility in Huron East.
The outbreak encompasses 37 residents and 8 staff. 2 of the staff cases have already been resolved. All resident cases remain asymptomatic. One factor likely contributing to this is that all residents had already received their first Covid-19 vaccination prior to the outbreak. Staffing levels have been increased at the facility in efforts to bolster care at the facility during the outbreak.
The facility has also increased the frequency of deep cleaning and the on-site training and mentoring of staff with a strong focus on infection control.
